Punjab School Timings Changed from 24 August
The School Education Department, Government of the Punjab has issued a notification regarding revised school timings across Punjab. According to the notification, public and private schools across Punjab shall remain open from Monday to Friday with effect from 24 August 2026.
The revised timings will remain applicable from 24 August 2026 to 15 October 2026.
Revised School Timings
Single-Shift Schools
Monday to Thursday:
🕗 8:00 AM to 1:30 PM
Friday:
🕗 8:00 AM to 12:45 PM
Double-Shift / Afternoon Schools
Morning Shift:
🕗 8:00 AM to 12:00 Noon
Evening Shift:
🕑 2:00 PM to 5:30 PM
Afternoon Schools:
🕐 1:00 PM to 5:30 PM
Important Instructions
All Chief Executive Officers (DEA) in Punjab have been directed to ensure compliance with the notification in letter and spirit.
The notification also states that the concerned Chief Executive Officers (DEA) may adjust the 15-minute gap in the opening and closing time of girls’ schools in their respective districts according to local convenience.
Effective Date
24 August 2026
Timings Applicable Until
15 October 2026
Students, parents, teachers and school administrations are advised to follow the revised schedule from the effective date.
